Amy has been a nail technician for over 11 years, beginning her career in Florida, and continuing it in Colorado after moving there in 1995. Despite the fact that she now tries to convince every other nail technician to try competitions as a great learning experience, she was totally terrified to do so herself until 1999. In 2000, she was ranked 14th in NAILS Magazine's Top 25 Competitors.

Patty Blanusa
Almost 20 years after she began, Patty
continues to be passionate about nails. Always eager to learn, she looks
forward to a continued bright future working together with Creative Nail
Design for the past 9 years to raise the standards of the nail industry.
The only gratification I need,' she says, "is knowing I have helped
others become successful at what I love the most Nails."
Patti holds many awards and distinctions:
Educator of the year 1994, International World
Champion 1994, the First American ever to place in a European Nail
Competition 1994, lBS Show 1st Place winner 1999, IBS New York Show
winner 1999, International Trainer, Photo-shoot Technician, Member

Magazine March 1998 and February 2001.

Rita
Horvath
Rita Horvath is an award winning nail technician
working in Boca Raton, Florida. She is recognized by both
"NAILS" and "Nail Pro " magazines. In the past she
has been a Cover Artist for "Nail Pro" magazine and
has competed in the competition circuit since 1997 in the United States,
Puerto Rico and Australia. She has over thirty awards for various Nail
Enhancement Competitions that include both acrylic nail and nail wrap
techniques. In 1997 she was a member of OPI Nail Products
"Competition Team" and was also ranked fourth in the nation by
"NAILS" magazine's "Top 25 Competitors List".
Being in the business since 1990, Rita holds a
cosmetologist license in both Pennsylvania and Florida, and is a member
of the NASP, National Alliance of Salon Professionals.

Janene
Bushey
Janene is the owner of Nail Elegance, Shelby, OH for 13 years and has been
a licensed Cosmetologist since 1973. She has specialized in nails since 1982.
Janene educates for Tammy Taylor Nails 6 years and has been airbrushing for 9
years. She is certified in the State of Ohio for Airbrushing and Tammy
Taylor CEU classes. Janene's talented airbrush work placed her 2nd in the Online
Spring Nailart Contest

Deborah
McKinley
Brampton, Ontario
Deborah has been a veteran nail technician for 10 yrs,
owned her own salon and is a competitor in both Canada and the USA. Besides
being a contributing writer for various trade magazines, she is also Chapter
President for the GTA and Educator for The Nail Technicians Alliance of Canada.
Deborah is presently Canadian Director of Education for Odyssey Nail Systems and
is the Director of a Nail Technician program at a newly registered school. This
institution features the most in depth nail program currently available in
Ontario.

JoAnn
Simlick
Conneticut
A salon owner in Connecticut for eight years, JoAnn
has been airbrushing for almost as long, six years. The salon is a nails
only salon with four nail technicians, who she has taught to airbrush as
well. She is an educator, both for Createx Paint Co. and as an
independent educator, demonstrating her skills in airbrushing and
helping others to learn this fine art. JoAnn can be found at trade shows
demonstrating for Createx Paint. Co. for the past five years. Recently
she taught her skills to to nail technicians in England and held
seminars for two years on the Nail Those Profits at Sea Cruise.

Mindy Borrego
Granby, CT
Mindy received her Colorado manicuring license in 1987. Upon returning
to her home state of Connecticut in late 1988, she opened "Mindyfingers,"
a nails-only salon the following year. She is the columnist of 'Net
Notes for Nailpro, as well as a member of that magazine's advisory
board. In 1997 she was selected 1st runner-up for Nails magazine
"Nail Technician of the Year;" the following year she was 4th
runner-up for Nailpro's "World's Top Tech,"--the only nail
tech to be so honored by both major industry publications. She is a
Creative Nail Master as well as a Peters' Perspective certified nail
judge. She frequently judges nail competitions nationally as well as
internationally. She is a Nailpro cover tech and has worked on the set
of Saturday Night Live doing nails on the guest artist. She is also
found (occasionally in the lounge) on the "Nail Those Profits at
Sea" cruises.

Harvey-Yin
Greensborough, Australia
Jai began her career in the
beauty industry in 1991 as a makeup artist, and then continued studying
to gain her Diploma in Beauty Therapy (Esthetics). As part of this
course, Jai took nails because she hated electrolysis - so that was how
her passion for the nail industry began! Based in Greensborough
Australia, Jai has travelled to the USA many times in her search for
knowledge, and returns to share it with other technicians in Australia
where she currently works as an Educator and Distributor.

Georgette Garber Torrell

Georgette is a 10 year salon owner and licensed nail technician
beachside, in Indian Harbour Beach, Florida. Hottest Touch Nail Salon specializes in a relaxing atmosphere, expert
techniques and above all kindness. She placed 1st in the Enhancement
Makeover category in the New Millennium contest held at
beautytech.com and judged in the Strut Your Stuff Nailart Enhancement Contest
contest in 2001. She
also holds the distinction of being runner up in both Salon of the Year and Nail Technician of the
Year in NAILS Magazine. Georgette has had several articles featuring her and her
salon in both Nailpro and NAILS magazine's.

Casey Raimer
York, PA
Casey Raimer has been in the beauty industry for 12 years. She began her
career as a cosmetologist, doing both hair and makeup. After seeing a poster
of airbrushed nails in 1990, her curiosity turned towards nails. Casey's long
love of art work has inspired her to sample all the various mediums of the
nail world. Casey's various forms of nail creations have been seen many times
in both Nailpro and NAILS magazines, along with Airbrush Action. Casey has
been an invited guest on the TODAY show, and has also been contacted in the
past by the Rosie O'Donnel show. She has won numerous competitions, including
the Beautytech Spring Nail Art / Airbrushing category, The 2000 Alternative
nail awards/Decorated Hands and Feet, and most recently was a winner with all
3 of her entries in Airbrush Action's 2001 Excellence Competition, receiving
1st, 2nd, and 4th place. Casey is an IBD International Educator, and
resides in York, Pa, where she lives with her husband and 4 children.

Valerie
Sartain
Edison, NJ
Doing nails was always something of interest to Valerie. She has
been doing nail art since the age of thirteen. Valerie holds a NJ license and
the only student in her class interested in nail competitions. While in school
she was lucky to attract the attention of world renown Sue Schultes, who
mentored Valerie in nail art skills and was later employed by Shultes. In her
very first professional nail art competition, Valerie placed a very impressive 1st.
After a 4 year absence from being in a salon she returned with her third and fourth wins by placing 1st and 3rd in
the 2001 Strut Your Stuff flat nail
art category.
Valerie is now a Creative Nail master technician and hope to become an educator in
the near future.

Julie
Kellos
Layton, UT
Julie has been
in the beauty industry for 10 ½ years. She currently travels the
U.S. educating for Too Much Fun and has recently been named their
Director of Education, and is a Master Educator with EZ Flow. Her
artwork has been published in both Nailpro and NAILS magazines, along
with being interviewed for the Rosie O’Donnel Magazine. She has
placed and won in numerous competitions, most recently in the Beautytech
Strut Your Stuff 1 competition/Airbrushing category, and received the
AVA Salon of the Year Runner Up Award for 2002. She currently owns
Nail Glyphx Salon/Distributorship in Layton, Utah where she lives with
her husband and daughter. Julie is also an accomplished vocalist
and currently has a CD out on the MAS local label..
