Shannon Urquiola

Shannon has been a licensed cosmetologist for over 12 years, although she has focused her career solely in the nail industry. Shannon had the opportunity from early on in her career to train with some of our top industry leaders. She began her career as a manufacturer educator and has excelled in the industry from there. Those that know her, know that she is dedicated, committed and rarely seen without a smile! She has a true passion for taking the nail industry to the next level through education and continuing to be involved in issues that directly involve the nail professionals in the salon. Over the last ten years, she has been on the judges panel of many different competitions throughout the US, including also Puerto Rico.

Patty Blanusa
Almost 20 years after she began, Patty continues to be passionate about nails. Always eager to learn, she looks forward to a continued bright future working together with Creative Nail Design for the past 9 years to raise the standards of the nail industry. The only gratification I need,' she says, "is knowing I have helped others become successful at what I love the most Nails."

Nancy King
Glendale, AZ
Nancy King is an international industry consultant, non-product related educator, former member of the Maryland State Board of Cosmetologists, national nail competition champion and certified competition judge. Her work with the media, both nationally and internationally (she was the technical advisor to ABC's network's 20/20 for two nail stories in 2001 and 2002, as well as most other networks and publications), with state boards, the NMC (Nail Manufacturers Council), ABA (American Beauty Association - Safety and Standards Committee), the CIR, EPA, and the FDA has made a significant impact on the beauty industry. Nancy is also an international writer on industry standards for health and safety in salons, and has been retained by prominent law firms as an expert witness in salon malpractice and injury cases.
She is currently the Executive Director of the Foundation for Safety in Cosmetology, a regulatory support organization that sets industry standards for the regulation of Cosmetology, the Director of the AEFM (Assoc. of Electric File Manufacturers), and is a member of the Advisory Board of INTA (International Nail Technicians Association).

Mindy Borrego
Granby, CT
Mindy received her Colorado manicuring license in 1987. Upon returning to her
home state of Connecticut in late 1988, she opened "Mindyfingers," a
nails-only salon the following year. She was the columnist of 'Net Notes for
Nailpro, and still serves as a member of that magazine's advisory board. In 1997
she was selected 1st runner-up for Nails magazine "Nail Technician of the
Year;" the following year she was 4th runner-up for Nailpro's "World's
Top Tech,"--the only nail tech to be so honored by both major industry
publications. She frequently judges nail competitions nationally as well as
internationally, and held the position of Head Judge for the Nailpro
competitions. She received her Creative Nail Design Master Nail Technician
certification in 1996. In addition, she is a Nailpro cover tech and has worked
on the set of Saturday Night Live doing nails on the guest artist. She can also
be found (occasionally in the lounge--with an Appletini in hand) on the annual
"Nail Those Profits at Sea" cruises.

Darlene Sammons
Chattanooga, Tennessee
Darlene is a cosmetologist and esthetician who has been doing
nails for 23 years in Tennessee. She entered her first nail competition in 1996
in Atlanta. Her second competition she entered she placed 3rd in 1998 at the
Great American Nail Faire. She has been a Creative Nail Design Master Nailtech
since 1996 and has worked for Backscratchers Salon Systems for almost 2 years as
an educator. She currently works as a nailtech part-time at Creative Concepts
Salon in Chattanooga, TN and also as a nailtech instructor at Franklin Academy
in Cleveland TN, while continuing to educate for Backscratchers. She offers
non-product-specific classes to nailtechs and is a educator for the Association
of Electric File Manufacturers. She also has certificates in Reflexology,
Neuromuscular therapy, hot stone therapy and is a certified Nailpro competition
judge. She is a licensed massage therapist and maintains a small massage
practice at her home.

Juli Miller
Ohio
Juli Miller is a veteran of the nail business. 19 years
as a licensed manicurist in California and Ohio, Juli is also a a salon
owner. She has been education coordinator of a major manufacturing
company, involved in education for the past 12 years, as well as a CE
provider for the OH State Board of Cosmetology. In over 19 years doing
nails, Juli has done work on numerous magazine covers, TV commercials,
print work and has worked as a judge and competition coordinator at many
nail competitions.

Vitaly Solomonoff

prior to his career within Professional Nail Industry, Vitaly was a
medical doctor. Currently the founder and President of Academy of Nail Art
- Moscow Russia. The founder for NAIL SERVICE Magazine and Publisher and
Editor-in-chief for NAILURE MAGAZINE. He has been doing nails for 8 years
as a nail-tech and international educator for 6 years. Vitaly also, is the
author of professional articles for European and Russian media. In the
professional field, he has created technology of Male Attache Manicure,
special velvet nail-art, professional education course for nail-tech which
set the standards in highest quality education in Russia and Europe,
Technology of FORTE PEDICURE and Hot sand manicure. During the last three
years has performed duties as a judge for Competitions in Russia, USA and
Europe.

Diana Bonn
Muncie, Indiana
Diana had been a competition judge for 4 years, trained by Vicki Peters.
She has been a nail technician for 12 years and owned her own salon for 8
years.
Since 2000, Diana has been an electric file educator, CEU educator for
Indiana, and an educator for Maly's and private accounts teaching OSHA,
State Laws, Diseases, Sanitation and also Nail Classes.
She currently is a member of the INTA task force, contributor to both
NAILS and Nail Pro magazines, had a hand in changing laws in several
states concerning MMA, and is a nail technician advisor for Indiana State
board of Cosmetology.

Ellen Torchia
North Bend, WA
International award winning nail artist and top 10 National nail competitor for 2002. Licensed massage practitioner (1989) and manicurist (1997). Specializing in airbrushing (nail art, make up, and tanning) and owner of Beautyairbrushing.com, as well as Air Affair, a commercial airbrush makeup company. As a health care provider, safety, sanitation and disinfection in our industry has been a priority of Ellen's. She is an educator with the AEFM (Association of Electric File Manufacturers) Everyone benefits from education. Ellen teaches airbrushing of nails, makeup, temporary tattoos and tanning. She has experience educating for several manufacturers as well as being the featured educator for a Badger Airbrush instructional video. Ellen also received a special award from the Nail Tech Network for Outstanding Mentoring in 2002. Ellen is a previous award winner in the 2001 Strut Your Stuff competition.

Slawomir Wos is the owner of Euro Fashion - one of the biggest
distributors and wholesalers of nail industry in Europe. Euro Fashion is
manor distributor of 30 American firms in Europe. Slawomir has specialized
in nails since 1995. He is an organizer of Polish Championships of Nails
Decorating "Nail Art" and "Nail Creations"- on feet
and International Championship of Nails Decorating "International
Nail Art". He was jury member 3 times in Nailpro Nai Art Championship
in Frankfurt and in 2003 in the Beautytech Strut Your Stuff. Everybody
knows his sense of beauty and esthetics and because of that he was
championships juror for many times. Slawomir is one of the very first
managers who represent nail industry in Poland and Europe. Probably
He is the only one male in Poland who knows everything
about nails. He's always happy to show people new ways of nail art that's
