Marbled Stone Scents posted by Genie W
Recipe from the book conpany's coming Gifts from the Kitchen
Marbled Stone Scents Use these lightly scented stones as a base to hold dried flowers in a pretty vase. The scent will last for several months. 3/4 C (175mL) All-purpose flour 3/4C (175mL) Salt 3/4 C (175mL) Boiling water 2 tsp. (10mL) Fragrance Oil (use more or less as desired) Food coloring combine flour and salt in a medium bowl. Make a well in center. Pour boiling water and fragrance oil into well. Scent will be strong, but does fade while drying. Knead in food coloring with over working until a marbled effect is created. With dampened hands, shape dough into irregular-shaped stones. Place on a greased baking sheet. Bake in 200* F (95*C) oven, with oven door slightly open, for 2 to 21/2 hours, turning after 1 hour, until hardened.
