Air Freshener posted by Genie W
Recipe from Company's Coming...Gifts from the kitchen.
Air Freshener Depending on the scent used, this can be a mild or strong air freshener. Adding food coloring will produce a layered effect. 3 C (750L) distilled Water 6 Evvelopes of unflavored Gelatin (1/4 oz., 7g. each) 3 Tbl (50mL)Salt 1/2 tsp. (2mL)Fragrance Oil Food Coloring--optional small decorative wide mouthed jars with tight- fitting lids 1-4 combine distilled water and gelatin in large saucepan. Let stand for 10 minutes to soften gelatin. Heat and stir on medium for 1 minute. Add salt. Heat and stir to dissolve gelatin and salt. Remove from heat. Cool for 30 min. Stir in fragrance oil and food coloring to desired color. Pour into small jars. Let stand at room temperature for about 1 hour, until solid. Makes 3 cups (750mL) Note: small salt and pepper glass jars hold about 1/4 cup. These have screw on tops, but holes for fragrance to come out of, while keeping insects out of fragrance. Great for gift giving.
