8 oz. Macadamia Nut Oil
8 oz. Apricot Kernel Oil
8 oz. Jojoba Oil

Mix together and put into 1/2 oz dark glass bottles with droppers.

I found the oils for this recipe on birchhillhappenings.com and the bottles on bottlesandmore.com.

Figured out that it cost $1.39 per 1/2 oz bottle to make; this includes the cost of the bottle.

I want to make my own cuticle oil. I was thinking about using Almond oil, Jojoba oil and a fragrant oil. Would this work? Should the almond and jojoba be 1:1 ?? I want to make it safe for me to use as i'm allergic to macadamia and also apricots!

Be very careful if you're considering using essential oils--especially since you're pregnant. Essential oils can be very powerful, and can enter the bloodstream. Some are not reccomended for pregnant women--so be very aware of your choices if you opt to do this.

I made mine out of Sweet Rice Bran, Almond oil (there is an aromatic, and a non-aromatic), jojoba (which is actually a wax, not an oil), and I think I put some vitamin E in there too. Some oils are thinner than others, and it really depends on what you want the texture to be. You could use straight Vit. E if you want to--but there are hundreds if not thousands of options for mixing your own. Olive oil is a nice option too--use EVOO if you try that option.

Yeah I wasn't planning on using an essential oil, just a fragrant one. I don't know much about oils... The website i've found with decent prices to buy from has different scented oils which i'm guessing arent essential oils.

I combine almond oil (the carrier oil not the fragrance oil), grapeseed oil (a great antioxidant), and jojoba oil (it's true, it is not actually an oil but a wax) and some vitamin e. I do add tea tree oil (an essential--great antifungal and antibacterial) and lavender oil (another essential--smells good and is also antibacterial). I'd be happy to share the actual amounts if you're interested!

Your cuticle oil sounds great! Could you please post the actual amounts of each of the ingredients? Also, where could I get these oils from? I would appreciate any help you can give me with this.

This needs to be stored in a dark glass bottle. I usually double or triple this recipe, and pour into a smaller bottle as needed.

I may try of these out myself! But I'm not too familiar with cuticle treatments. How do you use them? how long do you keep it on for? And how often do you do them?
